One of the dramatic locations is the Valley of Ashes. A rubbish dump where characters drove through between Long Island and New York. We had location photography from 1920’s for reference to our digital environments. The brief from Baz Luhrmann was to make the bleak Valley of Ashes contrast with the beauty of New York in the background.
